Recording of GP Appointment Data
I’m hearing that GP system suppliers are being asked to look at how GP appointment data is recorded to improve the usefulness. Partly to make sure correct type is recorded and also time from booking to appointment reflects what the patient wants, this makes a lot of sense as its currently a bit of a mess.
My personal view is that it’s about time we completely re-designed the GP appointment system from scratch. I think the market would go for a new module that had loads of modern features including some of the e-triage and SMS/comms functionality that are currently bolt-ons.
