How to Lie with Statistics – Books I recommend 7
How to Lie with Statistics by Darrell Huff is a seminal work first published about 60 years ago yet still topical and relevant. https://amzn.to/3hHVeqa This should be on every school maths syllabus. I bet it is on every marketing and advertising courses’ reading list but perhaps for the wrong reasons. Changing scales, labelling axis, quoting figures selectively.. 8 out of 10 cats… If you havent read it already you must. I first came across it aged about 12 on my dad’s bookshelf and thought i’d been let into a secret world and had magic powers to see through the hype.
Lots of books emulate it but try reading the original.
