EMIS protocols & QMasters are great!

I’m often very critical of the Primary care EPR I use – EMIS Web. See my article. However one of its great features is protocols – effectively a very basic macro language that allows quite clever functionality. (Of course, I think it could be better and is missing some features..)

One of the best uses is on  http://www.qmasters.co.uk/ where they have developed a load of tools that run in the background and try and correct bad coding. You type in the wrong code – it tells you and changes it to the right one – trying to drive up data quality. they also have some other nice tools. Check them out.

Now they cost money – not much and I don’t want to do them out of an income but I do wonder if we should create some sort of open source GitHub-like repository of such useful protocols?
